Valerie has been in the hair industry for over twenty years, beginning her career with formal training at Rodney Mitchell Salons in Nashville and Rodney Gavin salon in Franklin. Her passion for hair has taken her all over the South, from Texas to Georgia to North Carolina, before finally settling down in her home state of Tennessee.

 

Throughout her career she has kept up with the latest hair trends by attending numerous seminars and classes to advance her skill level. She has a deep understanding of color theory and has mastered a wide range of techniques including color correction, multi-dimensional coloring, balayage, as well as foil highlights and lowlights. She also possesses advanced cutting skills, having trained with Bumble and Bumble in New York in advanced razor cutting. She strives to stay at the forefront of her field with knowledge of the newest products and services available so she can provide the best experience possible for her clientele.

 

In 2009 she decided to follow her dreams of owning her own salon and took over that role at Urban Image. With a wonderfully sophisticated and calming environment, she hopes the salon can feel like a home away from home. She has brought on an exceptionally talented and devoted staff, whose passion and love for what they do can be seen with every client’s visit.

 

While hair is her passion, her three boys are what makes Valerie’s life complete. When she isn’t at a little league game or football practice, she enjoys trying out the newest restaurants or taking in a Justin Timberlake concert with her friends.
